Science and technology
During the development of nuclear fusion, MAYEKAWA helium compressors were supplied to the Japan Atomic Energy Agency for the JT-60 unit, the National Plasma Research Institute for the screw unit, and other laboratories in Germany, India and Korea.
Description
The JT-60 unit is the world’s largest superconducting fusion reactor, capable of operating at temperatures up to a billion degrees Celsius. MAYEKAWA’s compression and freezing technologies are widely used by the Central Japan Railway Company for its Maglev train project. They are also used in research into high-temperature superconductivity of electricity.
