Marine equipment
MAYEKAWA Mfg. Co.,Ltd. contributes to meeting the growing demand of the perishable goods trade by supplying a wide range of refrigeration equipment for specialist refrigerated vessels.
Description
Global trade in perishable goods will grow
Despite the global economic downturn, global trade in perishable goods that require refrigeration is expected to grow by almost 15% to more than 200 million tons by 2015, of which approximately 50 percent, corresponding to more than 100 million tons, will be transported by sea transport. However, excluding container ships, the number of specialized refrigerated vessels, the main maritime vessels for transporting chilled food products, is expected to fall from 35.5 million tons in 2007 to 32.0 million tons in 2015.
Global increase in seafood consumption
As eating seafood is recognized as safe and healthy, global seafood consumption has shown significant growth and this trend is set to continue. As the world faces pressure to meet this growing demand for seafood, there have been increasing calls for fisheries to be regulated to prevent the complete destruction of marine resources.
MAYEKAWA’s Commitments
Cooling system for refrigerated ships
MAYEKAWA Mfg. Co.,Ltd. contributes to meeting the growing demand of the perishable goods trade by supplying a wide range of refrigeration equipment for specialized refrigerated vessels, using the latest technology to preserve the best quality of food products during sea transport. We continually strive to develop new specialized systems for refrigerated vessels.
Cooling system for fishing boats
In order to produce or maintain the best quality frozen food, a reliable, high-performance and environmentally friendly refrigeration system is required. To meet this requirement, we offer various types of systems and equipment based on our energy-efficient piston and screw compressors.
Nitrogen generation system using the PSA method (Pressure Swing Adsorption)
In addition to refrigeration systems, one of our main products offered to the shipping market is our developed Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) nitrogen generation system for LPG tankers and chemical tankers. Using a new carbon absorber made of special phenolic resin, our generator ensures low power consumption. The generator has a compact design with noise reduction, meeting the requirements of marine equipment.
MGO cooling system
To meet global requirements to limit air pollution from sulfur content of marine fuel oil, we supply our unique MGO refrigeration system, derived from refrigeration technology designed for specialized refrigerated carriers.
Our sophisticated, fully automatic, highly reliable and compact system is the perfect match for the MGO cooling system and is unrivaled in performance.
