At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, all new ice facilities used modern MAYEKAWA refrigeration systems. Using natural refrigerants and heat transfer fluids, MAYEKAWA created the ideal ice rinks for every sport, while ensuring complete environmental safety of refrigeration units. In particular, MAYEKAWA was involved in the development of a bobsleigh track project, which was the first to use artificial ice of the same type that was used at that time for ice skating rinks in Asia. By entering the project at the design stage, we were able to develop a safe and highly efficient refrigeration plant based on the indirect cooling method, thereby making a significant contribution to the success of the Olympics.
